Hardware Overview
The hardware of choice for our In-Store Solution is the IBM® eServer® iSeries™ Server, an integrated system designed to run thousands of the most popular business applications. The iSeries provides faster, more reliable, highly secure ways to help you simplify your IT environment by reducing the number of servers and associated staff required, thus helping you save money and reinvest in growing your business. Virus-resistant by design, the iSeries reduces concern about data security being compromised and helps cut costs by avoiding multiple security patches throughout the year. With multiple growth options and upgrades available, your store can expand your iSeries server as your needs grow.

Software Overview
To make interacting with your software as easy as possible, MBS delivers our applications in Java Graphical User Interface (GUI) format—just point and click! Choosing Java allows us to provide our customers with a user-friendly interface, enhanced security, tremendous flexibility and ease of navigation, and intuitive process flows. Because Java employs the Internet as opposed to a hard drive or in-store network, there is no need for data to be hosted on each of your store PCs. The information resides on your iSeries server and is accessed as needed via an Internet connection, allowing you to connect remotely via any Web-connected PC (contingent upon individual store security). With MBS Java GUI, updates, enhancements, and other releases are loaded only once and only to the iSeries server. From there, all other PCs will connect to the server and access the new data over the Internet. Because nothing is PC resident, there are no time-consuming individual updates and no worries about sensitive data being on a terminal that is not secure.
